Asian Network for Scientific Information Joins Global Celebration of Peer Review Week 2026

The Asian Network for Scientific Information (ANSINET) has announced its participation in Peer Review Week 2026, a global initiative dedicated to recognizing the essential role of peer review in maintaining the quality, integrity, and credibility of scholarly research. The international celebration will be held from 14–18 September 2026, uniting researchers, editors, reviewers, publishers, and academic institutions from around the world.

Highlighting Peer Review Contributions
Peer Review Week has become a key annual event in the scholarly publishing ecosystem. It recognizes the invaluable contributions of peer reviewers and fosters dialogue on improving transparency, efficiency, and trust in the peer-review process. Each year, a central theme is selected through a global community poll, allowing stakeholders across the research landscape to shape the focus of the celebration.

ANSINET’s Role and Engagement
ANSINET has circulated the official theme poll announcement to its network of journal editors, editorial board members, and reviewers, encouraging active participation in the voting process. By engaging its editorial community, ANSINET ensures that the voices of researchers and publishing professionals are represented in this global discussion.

The theme selection represents the first stage of preparations for Peer Review Week 2026. The proposed themes for community consideration are:

  • Incentives and Metrics in Peer Review
  • Mentorship and New Models in Peer Review
  • Peer Review Capacity: Volume, Speed, and Quality
  • Governance and Accountability in Peer Review

Members of the scholarly community are encouraged to review these themes carefully and cast their vote, helping define the focus of PRW 2026 discussions, events, and global engagement.

Voting Deadline: 15 April 2026
Participants are invited to select the theme they believe should define Peer Review Week 2026.

Promoting Responsible Peer Review
By joining the 2026 celebration, ANSINET aims to raise awareness of responsible peer-review practices and encourage broader participation from the scholarly publishing community. The organization has long been committed to supporting academic journals and promoting best practices in editorial management, research integrity, and scholarly communication.

As the global research ecosystem continues to evolve, challenges such as increasing publication pressures, reviewer fatigue, and the growing need for transparency in editorial processes make initiatives like Peer Review Week more important than ever.

ANSINET encourages all members of the scholarly publishing community to participate in the theme poll and contribute to shaping the direction of Peer Review Week 2026, advancing a stronger and more transparent peer-review culture worldwide.
